Memorable moments
The story is not all fluffy happiness, innocence and friendly competition anymore as Vanilla accepts a black heart and becomes Pierre's ally. A significant moment, as the plot only gets more complex and the characters are explored more in depth from here.
There are many memorable Pierre/Chocola moments, but I picked this one because it's one of the first and it's just so touching. Pierre is hurt, after a fight at the Valpurgis Night party. Chocola has made herself invisible to be alone after a quarrel, and suddenly she runs into Pierre. Seeing him sad and weakened affects her - she sees a new side of him, that he's not only the cold, mean person she usually sees. Her beginning love for him makes her want to comfort him, so she hugs him, thinking he won't realize it's her anyway because she's invisible..
Chocola has captured Vanilla's black heart - and amazingly, she's alive and well. It turns out that she's actually a "filter" - she has the ability to pick up a black heart and "clean" it, making it a rare white heart. The white heart signfies purity and this is the first time we're acquainted with it.
With a white heart, Duke can turn back into his human shape... When Chocola finally gives him a white heart, he's beyond happy! This is really a memorable moment for me, both because Duke looks so happy (and adorable! Look at him jumping!) when he receives it, but also because it will turn him into a human which really adds something to the plot.
