Misha - Angel in black

美紗
The kanji in Misha's given name mean "beauty" (mi) and "cloth, gauze" (sha - can also be just a part of a given name)

Misha At first glance, Misha may seem to be an always happy, energetic, silly and very lively girl without any worries or restraints whatsoever. But Misha is the angel forced to wear black - the angel that everyone in heaven talks about, because once she committed a dreadful sin. Angels are supposed to assist humans to find their path to happiness, but always without receiving anything in return or letting humans knowing they were there. But the young angel Misha met a boy named Kotarou Higuchi, who was the son of a demon and had the ability to see angels. Misha was so excited about getting to know and talk to a human. But it was forbidden - creatures from different worlds may not mingle, because the consequences can be very bad. Kotarou, who has fallen in love with her, ends up killing himself when he realizes Misha must return to heaven and that they can't see each other again. This is the great tragedy of Misha's life, and the reason why she for many years was imprisoned and had to wear black when other angels - the "real" angels - wear white.

Misha never stopped thinking of Kotarou, and when she got the chance to go back to the human world and see his reincarnation, the second Kotarou Higuchi, she didn't hesitate a moment. In the human world, everyone can see her, because she is not a "pure" angel anymore, after what she did. But all she cares about now is to make up for what she did, and to make Kotarou happy. No wonder she asks him when she first sees him, "Will you go out with me?!" It was exactly what the first Kotarou asked her so many, many years ago. Because many years have passed, although Misha, being an angel, does not seem to have aged much. And it is no coincidence that she is now clinging to Kotarou all the time - finally, she is actually able to touch him! Although Kotarou the first was able to see her, she, being a real angel, was never able to touch him.

Although her mission in life is to make Kotarou happy, her confidence often fails her. She feels that she falls short of making him happy, and when she witnesses how Shia seems to be able to really be "like a mother" to him, like Misha really wanted but couldn't - that's difficult for her. But still, Misha doesn't react with envy or start taking it out on Shia, she just becomes sad. Misha is a real angel who wants everyone to be happy. She would never hurt anyone on purpose, although she often seems to be rather scatter-brained, irresponsible and with little thought of consequence. She plays a dangerous game - trying to get close to Kotarou, and making him rely on her, all the while knowing that someday she must leave him and knowing how it ended the last time. But probably Misha has no choice - she must make him happy. And to make him open up and trust her, is the start for him to trust others and live a normal life with other humans. So for the sake of herself, the first Kotarou and the future of the current Kotarou - she simply has to succeed in making him happy.

Misha may seem irresponsible and clutzy, but she has the biggest heart and despite hardships in her life, she still trusts, loves and lives on. For her, different experiences is a part of life, and proof that she's alive. She doesn't live by the book or follow the rules too closely (like her sister Sasha). She is so full of life, and she wishes the best for everyone. Misha's very honest and doesn't feel the need for any reservations or mind games. She doesn't pretend, she speaks straight from her heart. She does nothing to hide her love for Kotarou. And in the end, she is rewarded. Her warmth and love helps Kotarou to open up and trust others again, which was always her biggest wish.
